Troubleshooting
Faulty electrodes might prevent your cooktop from lighting properly. If you accidentally spill water on the burner element, electrodes will not spark. If so, you need to wait for the cooktop to dry out. However, in most cases, you will need to replace the igniter. In addition, the burner holes might be clogged with food debris or corroded. Use a needle or pin to clean the holes up.
There could be a couple of causes. Most likely, the burner element is clogged with food fragments. To clean the burner head, use baking soda or vinegar. As mentioned before, clogged burner holes could also prevent gas flow. Another problem might be a defective gas burner valve. If the burner valve does not open properly, it will not allow the gas to travel through the burner tube.
