Troubleshooting

The water inlet valve allows water to enter the dishwasher. It might be malfunction or clogged with debris. In this case, you need to determine if there is any damage. Open the inner access panel and disconnect the water supply line and outlet hose from the inlet valve. The water inlet valve always needs replacement if broken.

The function of the circulation pump is to force water up through the spray arms. If the motor does not make any noise after the dishwasher has filled, it might be worn out. However, it is not DIY work due to the complexity of the replacement. Consider calling an appliance technician to help you.

There are two types of spray arms in your dishwasher. Both of them can prevent the machine from cleaning properly if broken. The spray arms circulate water over the upper and lower rack. Over time, they get clogged with food debrPullpull out the dish to replace the armrack, rotate the spray arm retaining, nut and remove the arm.

Drain Pump

The drain pump will not drain water properly if the impeller is damaged, the motor has shorted out, or the pump’s body is cracked. It could also be a reason your dishwasher is leaking water. The drain pump is located at the bottom of the dishwasher. Disconnect the wire harness and turn the old pump to remove it.

Drain Hose

The drain hose is usually located underneath the sink. Carefully disconnect it by removing the protective clamp and inspecting the hose for any visual damage. It might be too loose or ripped. In addition, it could be clogged near the garbage disposer. If so, your appliance will not drain properly. Replacing the hose is an easy and quick job.

Check Valve

The check valve does not let the water return to the dishwasher after being drained. If the valve is defective, it will prevent the water from draining. To check its condition disconnect the drain hose from the garbage disposer and the sump port. Replace or clean out the valve if necessary.

The first thing you should check is the door seal. It could cause water to leak if ripped or worn out. Make sure there are no gaps between the door and the seal. It is a good idea to check the door hinges too. If the door does not close properly, your dishwasher will leak.

If the spray arm assembly is cracked or worn out, it will spray water enormously, causing it to leak through the door. You need to check whether the screws in the spray arm support are tight enough. Open the door and remove the lower and upper dish rack. Then replace the spray arm assembly if necessary.

The faulty inlet valve might cause your dishwasher to leak. If the valve is stuck open, your dishwasher will overflow or leak on the floor. To deal with this problem, you need to replace the inlet valve as this part is not repairable.
