Trableshoutings
Condenser Coils are Dirty
Condenser coils are often located in the bottom of the refrigerator. Their function is to dissipate heat when the refrigerant passes through them. Dirty condenser coils will not work efficiently, causing your fridge to work harder to cool down. To make matters worse, it could also be a reason your fridge is not able to maintain the constant temperature. As a rule, condenser coils need to be replaced or cleaned properly.
Evaporator Fan Motor Issue
The evaporator fan motor is located inside the fridge under the evaporator cover. The motor is drawing air over the cooling coils and circulating it all over the fridge. If the motor breaks it will not circulate the cold air in the refrigerator part. As the motor is located in the freezer this section might remain cold.
Faulty Temperature Control
According to the FDA, the appropriate temperature in the refrigerator compartment should be about 32°F and around 1.4 °F in the freezer. A faulty thermostat could prevent the refrigerator from maintaining the correct temperature profile.
Faulty Door Switch
The door switch is located at the bottom of the refrigerator. The main function of this part is to continue cooling after you close the door. If the switch is broken, your fridge will not resume cooling as usual.
Freezer Temperature is Above 10°
If the temperature in the freezer section is above 10°F, the icemaker will not produce ice cubes effectively.
Icemaker Assembly
If some of the ice assembly parts are broken you need to replace the whole assembly since the components are not sold separately. Before replacing it, make sure that all of the components such as fan, water line, and inlet are working properly.
Faulty Water Inlet Walve
The water inlet opens to source water to the icemaker. If the inlet is defective or lacks pressure, it will not allow water to flow through the inlet. It might prevent the icemaker from making ice efficiently.
Vibrations from the floor
Make sure the legs of the fridge is even so that it stands firmly on the floor. In addition, you can place the rubber matting under your fridge. It will decrease the vibrations so there will be less noise.
Compressor and fan noise
If the fan is making a strange noise it is probably defective or dirty. You should clean it up or replace. If the noise is coming out of the compressor there is a chance that it is faulty and needs replacement.
Water Inlet Valve
If your refrigerator is making noise when ice-maker is filling, the problem is caused by a water-inlet valve. Do not attempt to repair the valve as it always needs to be replaced. The best decision is to get help from professional appliance repair service.
