Troubleshooting
Door Latch
The door latch secures the washer door shut during the washing. The washer will only start working once it determines the door is closed. If the door latch is defective, the washer might fail this check, and it will not spin or even start. You should determine if there is any damage to the door latch. This part will require replacement.
Drive Belt
It is easy to check whether your drive belt is faulty. Open up an access panel and examine the belt. It might be too loose or ripped.
Motor Coupler
Motor coupling is a small part that connects the motor to the washing machine transmission. It often fails when your washer is overloaded. You need to find the coupler and spin it to check if it is too loose or damaged.
Clutch
This part connects the transmission to the inner tub. It helps the tub to reach proper speed. If it is damaged, your washer will not spin properly.
The first thing you need to check is the dispenser. Some water jets inside might be clogged with mould and cause water to leak on the floor. If this is the case, clean the water jets with a brush.
If you notice a leak at the back of your machine, it might be coming from the water hoses. Check if the hoses are not ripped. Also, check the hose’s seal to ensure it is in good condition.
The other part that might cause the leak is the drain pump. Its function is to pump water out of the drain hose. If the drain pump is cracked or the bearings are worn out, the drain pump may leak water.
Washer Legs
Check if your washer stands firmly on the floor. If not, adjust the levelling legs. There would be much less noise from the washer during operation.
Suspension Rod
The suspension rods help to reduce the movement of the tub. If this part is faulty, your washing machine will vibrate harder than usual as the tub becomes unbalanced.
Shock Absorbers
The shock absorbers soften the vibration of the washer tub. Check them to ensure they are correctly positioned, and review them for damage and wear. If at least one of the shock absorbers is damaged, it will cause the washer to shake enormously.
The tub bearing is located in the centre of the outer tub. Its function is to provide the spinning of the inner tub. The noise might be related to the faulty bearing. Replacing the tub bearing is complicated and time-consuming as it requires disassembling most of the washer. Therefore, we recommend getting help from a professional.
Drive motor can produce loud noise if it is broken. It is easy to check: remove the drive belt and run the motor. If the motor is still loud, the bearings are worn out.
The drive pulley might be worn out, loose or bent. Remove the drive pulley by opening the back panel and examining it. If the drive pulley has any visual damage, replace it.
